Trips: Donna Sofokles and Sandra Dunn
Your trip ladies have planned two trips for your quilting pleasure:
Thursday, March 1
This will be a one day trip to THE QUILT FEST OF NEW JERSEY VIII at the Garden State Exhibit Center, Somerset NJ. This exhibit boasts over 400 quilts, wearable and textile works. The price for the trip has not been finalized yet but it should be in the $45 range. Non-members will be accepted after February 1 at an additional charge. The show web site is www.quiltfest.com
Thursday & Friday, June 29 & 30
This will be an over-night trip to the VERMONT QUILT FESTIVAL with a side trip for a factory tour of Lake Champlain Chocolates. We’ll also attend the pre-opening of the quilt show at a champagne and chocolate reception. The price is estimated to be in the $160-$175 range which will include the bus and shared-room lodging. Again, non-members will be admitted after May 15th at an additional charge. Meals and shopping will be from your pocket. Mickey Lawler will have a special exhibit at the show. Gerald Roy, renowned quilt collector and appraiser will have an exhibit on traditional quilt patterns with different possibilities. The show web site is www.vqf.org.
