Carole Peterson was certified as a quilt judge by the National Quilting Association in 1994 and then qualified to judge Master Quilts in 1997 after a 21 year career as a teacher in Arlington Central School District. Through 24 years as an active quilt judge and consultant, she traveled coast to coast and judged many shows…local, regional, state fairs, consortiums and national shows. Even though she is presently retired, she has remained active in judging through consulting with guilds about judging procedures and setting up a judging room, as well as volunteering regularly as a judging aid for guild shows.

Carole has also participated in the American Quilters Society Appraisal classes and received over 30 hours of education on appraising quilts and dating fabrics.

She is an active quilter and participant in the Palmetto Quilt Guild of Hilton Head, SC, and First Dutchess Quilters in Poughkeepsie, NY. She continues to make award winning quilts and enjoys all kinds of handwork and sewing. Her fabric stash is without comparison! A very great pleasure is viewing creatively designed and expertly crafted quilts. Encouragement of young quilters to learn and take interest in the craft is also a pursuit of hers.
