Secretary's Report-
The December meeting was held on Thursday 12/15 because of a conflict with the school schedule on Wednesday. The meeting started at 6:30 with the traditional Holiday Pot Luck: an impressive array of appetizers, salads, casseroles and deserts accompanied by congenial conversation.

The business meeting was called to order at 7:35 by Vice-President Barbara Haymann-Diaz substituting for Jeanne, who was not feeling well. Rosa Dogan made a motion to accept the Secretary’s report as printed in the December newsletter. It was seconded by Donna Sofokles. A vote was taken and it carried. Donna Turner made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as printed in the December newsletter. It was seconded by Debbi Barbanti. A vote was taken and it carried.

Announcements –

Community Quilts: Pat Comerford described dropping off the 10 quilts at the Cardinal Hayes Home. They sounded lukewarm during the initial discussions, but when they finally saw the quilts they were suddenly very enthusiastic. As of the meeting, the date & place for the next bee was not set, but there will be an announcement later in this newsletter.

Super Saturday: Kate Lange asked teachers who had brought their samples to leave them with her. They do not yet have a date or place but are looking at the end of March or early April.

Grace Smith House: Kathy Eberlein thanked FDQ members for their generous donations to Grace Smith House. She will be absent for the next 3 months so during that time Kathy Basso will be collecting for Grace Smith House.

Welcoming Committee: Barbara H-D welcomed four guests.

Other: I announced I will be teaching a vegetable gardening class starting in February. Details are elsewhere in this newsletter.

Merchandise Raffle: Linda Dearing announced the winners of the merchandise raffle.

Fat Quarter Exchange: Donna Turner announced the winners of the Fat Quarter Exchange.

Program: the ornament exchange revealed a wide variety of tiny handicrafts. Then we saw the Seasonal Needling show, containing seven items ranging from a folded Dresden Plate table topper to two large tree skirts.

Share & Inspire: Several quilts were displayed.

The business meeting was adjourned at 8:10.
