First Dutchess Quilters

• To all First Dutchess members without whose help we would not have been able to donate thirty eight (38 !!) beautiful quilts in 2011 (24 to Astor Family Services in Rhinebeck, 10 to Cardinal Hayes Home in Millbrook and 4 to a local family who lost everything in a fire).

The following is the tentative schedule of bees for 2012 to be held at the East Fishkill library starting at 10AM and ending by 3PM. All helping hands are welcome!

We did accomplish quite a bit at the December bee, finishing tops and getting several quilts bound. Thanks to Allan Anderson's patience we were also able to get a top quilted using the Quilt Basket's long arm quilter - what a fun machine to use! 

Since no bees are scheduled for January or February kits will be available at the January meeting for anyone willing to help out by working on them at home. Some just need to be cut out for future bees and some are ready for assembly. In addition, we always appreciate it when a member volunteers to quilt a top - Community Quilts provides the top, back and batt.
